Friendship 7 by Williams. We are reluctantly selling this beautiful and rare game from July 1962.
The game was built to commemorate the first maned flight to orbit the earth in February 1962, featuring John Glenn the legendary astronaut who accomplished this mission in the spaceship Friendship 7.
The game has been fully restored without any expense being spared. It has had a complete mechanical restoration, full external chroming of all metal parts an a partial zinc and chroming of internal parts as can be seen from the photos. The cabinet has been lovingly restored to the exact same patterns, colours and "splattering effect" as it would have come out of the factory, The backglass is an excellent reproduction of the original printed on to glass. The playfield is original and shows very few signs of wear. However, this could be restored at an additional price if the potential purchaser wanted this done. The plastic light shields are original and in very good condition. All the plastic posts have been reproduced using a 3D printer,
We waited 12 years to find one of these pinball machines which are very rare in the UK as they are an ADD A BALL pinball machine as opposed to a Replay game. Only 800 units were manufactured on 15th July 1962 and the serial number of this particular example is 070420. This game is a piece of history and it is very unlikely there is a better one anywhere in Europe.
